DWM, Age 41, 6' 230lbs. This is a wonderful gentleman, and an apparent treasure, who obviously has no trouble communicating with others. Just reading this man's application was an absolute delight. There is no doubt but that he genuinely likes people, and has a wonderful, heartwarming personality, that much managed to just shine right through his application form. He enjoys working with and mentoring little kids as well as adults. He has a fabulous relationship with his ex-wife and if you don't believe it you can even ask her personally, he'll "supply the phone number--no questions asked!" This is a man who is able to put himself in the other person's shoes, and truly see their point of view, even when he seriously disagrees with them. He likes children and touchingly notes that his "have grown up way too fast." He's a cat person and has been adopted by cat that was gift from his daughter. He not only, quite endearingly I thought, e-mailed a couple of candid shots of himself, but he also sent a picture of his brand new baby niece and Cades Cove, which is one of his favorite places.

He likes hiking and camping in the woods, and exercising, and belongs to a local health club. He enjoys computer games, databases, and other applications, and almost any kind of music (except rap and gospel). He enjoys adventure, western, sci-fi, James Bond type spy, and Fantasy movies. He loves to read, (especially sci-fi and fantasy) and owns several hundred books and has about 100 favorite authors, including Anne McCaffery, David Eddings, Robert Jordan, L.E.Modesitt Jr., and R.A. Salvatore.

He belives there is "no such thing as women's work...just shared tasks," and says, " I couldn't have the babies for my ex, but I went to the delivery room with her and let her cuss me out." He is a man who believes that "a woman needs a man who can listen," and that she "needs to be told, shown and and convinced every day that she's needed, she's capable, and loved." He has wonderful, broad shoulders, and is ready and willing to be there if you need a secure place to cry a few tears. He does not believe in striking a woman for any reason, and made a point of raising his sons with the same belief. He is comfortable doing household chores, "washing dishes and clothes as well as fixing the car." He likes wood-wooking, building tables, shelves, homes, and anything in between.

The lady who will win his affection, will be between 30 to 43 years old. She will be a non-smoker who drinks lightly or not at all, and is average to slim. It would be nice if she were comfortable in cutoffs, and an old tee shirt, as well as in silk and high heels. She will be a competent lady who will find changing a diaper and changing the oil in her car equally unchallenging, and will be able to "swing an axe, a bat, a hammer and an oar and a tennis racket with equal ease." She will be able to bait her own hook, and clean her take from the hunt whether that be, fish, Pheasant, rabbit, deer or elk. She will be as comfortable knitting as she is roughing it it miles from the trailhead. She will also be willing to do the monthly bills together and compromise, not give in, on planning expenses.

This is an outgoing gentleman, who jumps at challenges. almost always has a positive attitude, believes that "the glass is half full, rather than half empty, and takes genuine concern with the thoughts and feelings of others." He has no use for bigots, know-it-alls, people who can't get their hands dirty and anyone who says "That's not my job." He needs someone to share things with, dinner, hiking, camping, or activities with the kids. He's willing to be penpals as well, and while he ultimately hopes to find someone for a serious relationship, he wants to take it slowly, because he doesn't want to get hurt, or hurt someone by getting their hopes up unnecessarily.
